Bio for Lisa Banks

Lisa Banks

Lisa is an enthusiastic and creative addition to the Voice for The Horse team. She was born in Jamaica and has been associated with horses from day one. Her childhood consisted of brushing the kneecaps of ponies until she eventually grew tall enough to reach higher and assisting her mother with summer riding camps. Choosing to be with the horses rather than going camping or to the lake showed her dedication and love for the time she got to spend with these animals. Her fondest memories are of pony rides ending at a near by swimming hole, bare back jumping in the fields and pretending to run her own boarding barn. Most of her days were spent around these majestic animals along side the children who came for riding lessons with her mother, Ann Bell.

Lisa spends most of her week working with young children as an Early Childhood Education Assistant, which she began after receiving her Community Support Worker Diploma in 2018. Her spare time is dedicated to her two children and spending quality time with close family and friends. When presented with this opportunity, the excitement was palatable in her voice. She has been waiting for her calling in life, knowing someday it would all lead back to horses in some way, shape or form. In her mind, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and she cant wait to get her hands dirty and start engaging in the projects we have going.
