The Humane Education Commons is a shared learning space within Voice for the Horse, created to hold and preserve meaningful educational work rooted in compassion, stewardship, and respect for horses and the natural world. This page exists as a place of continuity — where important humane education resources can live with care, remain accessible, and be discovered when the time is right.
A foundational part of this commons includes educational legacy materials from Save America’s Wild Horses, a national youth-focused humane education campaign founded by equine advocate Joanne Cronan-Hamoy. Her work reflects decades of dedication to teaching young people about wild horses, ethical responsibility, and the value of listening deeply to the lives we share this land with.
These materials are shared here in the spirit of stewardship rather than urgency. They are not presented as active programs or formal curricula, but as resources that may inform, inspire, and support learning over time.
The Humane Education Commons brings together bodies of work that belong in conversation — each distinct, each respected, and each held without pressure to perform or expand. This is not a campaign or a call to action, but a resting place for educational work that continues to matter.
As Voice for the Horse rebuilds and evolves, this commons reflects a commitment to care, continuity, and long-view learning — honoring the past while remaining open to the future.
